The Firstfruits of Resurrection

The Firstfruits of Resurrection

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:20 (KJV)
“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.”

Reflection

The resurrection of Christ is the believer’s assurance that death will not have the final word. Just as the firstfruits promised a coming harvest, Christ’s resurrection guarantees that all who belong to Him will be raised in glory. This truth anchors the Christian’s hope even in the face of suffering and mortality.

Personal Reflection

Do I live with the confidence that my future is secure in Christ?

Puritan Insight

Jonathan Edwards wrote:

“The enjoyment of God is the only happiness with which our souls can be satisfied.”¹

Prayer

Risen Savior, strengthen my hope in Your resurrection. Help me live today in the light of the eternal life You have promised.

Joy Beyond Suffering

 Joy Beyond Suffering

Scripture: Romans 8:18 (KJV)
“The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed.”

Reflection

Christian suffering is temporary, but glory is eternal. Hope transforms hardship by reminding us that the best is yet to come.

Personal Reflection

Do I view present struggles through the lens of eternity?

Puritan Insight

Jonathan Edwards wrote:

“The enjoyment of God is the only happiness with which our souls can be satisfied.”

Prayer

Lord, keep my eyes fixed on eternal glory so that present trials will not shake my faith.
