The Seed That Dies

The Seed That Dies

Scripture: John 12:24 (KJV)
“Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”

Reflection

The pattern of Christ’s life becomes the pattern of ours. Just as the seed must fall into the earth before it produces fruit, so the believer must surrender pride and self-will before spiritual fruit appears. Often we resist this process because it feels like loss. Yet in God’s kingdom, surrender produces abundance.

Puritan Insight

Richard Baxter wrote:

“The more we deny ourselves for Christ, the more we shall find of Christ.”³

Prayer

Lord, teach me to trust Your purposes when obedience requires sacrifice. Let my life bear fruit that brings glory to You.
