TWELVE PARTNERS OF PEACE
I sought for the words "and peace" -- seeking to discover what things were joined with "peace" by the conjunction "and". I shall present "Twelve Partners Of Peace" that I found below, followed by my brief comments. Please bear in mind that I do not set these pairs before the readers as "exegetical" meanings, but only as "thought-provoking" conjunctions of the words "and Peace" preceded by something else. -- Duane V. 01 -- LIFE AND PEACE
Proverbs 3:2 -- "For length of days, and long LIFE, AND PEACE, shall they add to thee."
Malachi 2:5 -- "My covenant was with him of LIFE AND PEACE; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name."
Romans 8:6 -- "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is LIFE AND PEACE."
Often even Physical Life is conjoined with Peace. Even more so, one's Spiritual Life and Eternal Life are directly connected with having Peace with God!

02 -- GOVERNMENT AND PEACE
Isaiah 9:7 -- "Of the increase of his GOVERNMENT AND PEACE there shall be no end."
When rebellious Mankind will not be Governed by necessary CIVIL AUTHORITIES, there is no Peace. Again, even more so those who will not be Governed by God' Divine Authority shall not have Spiritual Peace or Eternal Peace!

03 -- TRUTH AND PEACE
Zechariah 8:16 -- "These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of TRUTH AND PEACE in your gates."
Zechariah 8:19 -- "Thus saith the Lord of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the TRUTH AND PEACE."
Genuine and Lasting Peace are always dependent upon Truth. Falsehood always breeds distrust, dissatisfaction, and discord! This is true, both in the realms of secular society, and also in the realms of spiritual society and peace with God.

04 -- HONOUR AND PEACE
Romans 2:9-10 -- "Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; but glory, HONOUR, AND PEACE, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile."
When one is dishonourable in behavior, this also breeds distrust, dissatisfaction, and discord. It is only when one is honourable that he or she is worthy of that trust which makes for peace. This again is true, both in social and spiritual realms.

05 -- RIGHTEOUSNESS AND PEACE
Romans 14:17 -- "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND PEACE, and joy in the Holy Ghost."
Righteousness breeds peace, and unrighteousness brings forth war!

06 -- JOY AND PEACE
Romans 14:17 -- "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and PEACE, AND JOY in the Holy Ghost."
Romans 15:13 -- "Now the God of hope fill you with all JOY AND PEACE in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost."
Peace and Joy are constant companions. No matter which comes first, they live in sweet accord!

07 -- LOVE AND PEACE
2 Corinthians 13:11 -- "Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of LOVE AND PEACE shall be with you."
"Love worketh no ill to his neighbour" (Rom. 13:10), therefore it DOES PROMOTE PEACE with his neighbor!

08 -- MERCY AND PEACE
1 Timothy 1:2 -- "Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, MERCY, AND PEACE, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord."
2 Timothy 1:2 -- "To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, MERCY, AND PEACE, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord."
Titus 1:4 -- "To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, MERCY, AND PEACE, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour."
2 John 1:3 -- "Grace be with you, MERCY, AND PEACE, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love."
In every one of the verses above the same two words are added to "Mercy and Peace." -- They are: Mercy And Peace "FROM GOD". Quite self-explanatory: Our Spiritual Peace and our Eternal Peace come to us ONLY THROUGH "MERCY . . FROM GOD"! I thank God that just now I HAVE "PEACE" with God through His "MERCY" toward me! Thank You, JESUS! for your GREAT MERCY toward me whereby I now have THY PEACE in my unworthy heart!

09 -- GRACE AND PEACE
2 Peter 1:2 -- "GRACE AND PEACE be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord."
Spiritual GRACE is the "unmerited and favor of God," whereby He transforms, cleanses, keeps, and helps us to inherit an abode in Heaven, forever! None can have true inward PEACE with and from God, except in conjunction with His unmerited GRACE!

10 -- THEE AND PEACE
1 Chronicles 12:18 -- Then the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto THEE, AND PEACE be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band."
To borrow a Quaker usage or two: -- THEE hast no PEACE, except "thy God helpeth thee" to have such. THEE and PEACE can have a partnership only when it is brought about by Thy God.

11 -- THINE HOUSE AND PEACE
1 Samuel 25:6 -- "And thus shall ye say to him that liveth in prosperity, Peace be both to THEE, AND PEACE be to THINE HOUSE, AND PEACE be unto all that thou hast."
THINE HOUSE should also be conjoined with PEACE. This can only be so when Christ is the "President" thereof, and not merely an occasional "resident" therein!

12 -- THY CHILDREN'S CHILDREN AND PEACE
Psalm 128:6 -- "Yea, thou shalt see THY CHILDREN'S CHILDREN, AND PEACE upon Israel."
Paul told the penitent, Philippian Jailor, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house" (Acts 16:31). Happy was that penitent man when he and his entire household were saved! However, if he and they remained true, HE WAS EVEN HAPPIER WHEN "HIS CHILDREN'S CHILDREN AND PEACE" were joyfully joined together in the Lord!
Should we not PRAISE THE LORD, and revere those dear saints who have so "lived the life of Christ" before their offspring that both THEIR CHILDREN and THEIR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN have all followed in their godly footsteps! I say, YES! -- and may God give us more such humble, holy, and greatly influential saints of God!
