Resting in God’s Sovereignty

Scripture

“Our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.” — Psalm 115:3

Personal Reflection

Nothing occurs outside the sovereign rule of God. Every storm, every blessing, every trial, and every victory unfolds according to His eternal purpose. This truth brings immense comfort to the believer.

If events were governed merely by chance or human power, fear would dominate the heart. But Scripture assures us that God reigns over all things. His sovereignty does not eliminate hardship—it guarantees purpose within hardship.

The believer rests in the confidence that no circumstance can thwart God’s will. Even the darkest providences are under His control.

Contemplation

A.W. Pink wrote, “The sovereignty of God is the pillow upon which the child of God rests his head.”
Do you truly believe God is sovereign over your present situation?

Prayer

Lord, help me rest peacefully in Your sovereign control over all things.

Application

When fear arises today, remind yourself: “God is still on the throne.”
