The Nearness of God
Scripture
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1
Personal Reflection
In the storm, the believer may feel isolated, but Scripture assures us that God is not distant—He is present. Not merely present, but actively helping. He is our refuge, our strength, our defender.
God’s nearness is not dependent upon our feelings, but upon His promise. He is with His people in every trial, sustaining them, guiding them, and preserving them.
The awareness of God’s presence transforms how we endure hardship. Fear diminishes, faith strengthens, and peace takes root.
Contemplation
John Flavel wrote, “God is most present with His people in their greatest trials.”
Do you live with an awareness of God’s presence?
Prayer
Lord, make me continually aware of Your presence in every circumstance.
Application
Pause throughout the day and remind yourself: “God is with me.”
