God’s Glory as the Chief End
Scripture
“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Personal Reflection
The chief end of man is not happiness, nor success, nor even survival through hardship—but the glory of God. Every storm that enters your life is ultimately governed by this purpose: that God might be magnified. When we forget this, we interpret suffering as meaningless. But when we remember it, even pain becomes purposeful. Whether in abundance or in trial, our lives are to reflect the worth, holiness, and supremacy of God. The believer who lives for God’s glory finds stability, for his life is anchored in something eternal and unchanging.
Contemplation
Thomas Watson wrote, “God cannot endure to have His glory stained.”
Are you seeking to glorify God—or to preserve your own comfort?
Prayer
Lord, align my heart with Your glory. Let every thought, word, and action bring honor to Your name, even in the storm.
Application
Before each major decision today, pause and ask: “Will this glorify God?” Let that question guide your choices.
