Suffering that Displays God

Suffering That Displays God

Scripture

“This sickness is…for the glory of God.” — John 11:4

Personal Reflection

Not all suffering is explained—but all suffering under God’s hand has purpose. In John 11, Lazarus’ illness was not meaningless; it was designed to display Christ’s glory. So it is in your life. The trials you endure may be the very means by which God reveals His power, mercy, and grace. The storm becomes a stage upon which divine glory is displayed. This does not make suffering easy—but it makes it meaningful.

Contemplation

Richard Sibbes wrote, “God’s works are perfect, though His ways seem mysterious.”
Can you trust that your suffering is not wasted?

Prayer

Lord, use my trials to magnify Your name. Let others see Your grace through my endurance.

Application

Ask today: “How can I reflect Christ in this difficulty?”
