Worship Born from Sovereignty

Scripture: Revelation 4:11 (KJV)

"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."

Personal Reflection

The doctrine of God's sovereignty is never meant merely to satisfy theological curiosity. It is intended to produce worship. When John was caught up into heaven, he did not witness debates about God's rule. He witnessed worship centered upon God's throne.

The angels do not question God's authority. The redeemed do not complain about His providence. Heaven resounds with praise because every creature recognizes that God alone is worthy.

Our worship on earth should reflect that heavenly reality. Every Lord's Day we gather not to entertain ourselves but to exalt the King whose throne rules over all. Every hymn, every prayer, every sermon, and every act of obedience should spring from hearts captivated by God's majesty.

True worship also continues beyond Sunday. Every act of faithful service, every moment of obedience, every expression of gratitude becomes an offering of praise to the sovereign Lord.

The more we meditate upon God's greatness, the more naturally worship flows from our hearts. A small view of God produces shallow worship. A biblical view of God's sovereignty produces reverence, joy, and heartfelt adoration.

Does my worship reflect a deep awareness of God's majesty and sovereign rule?

Majestic Lord, enlarge my vision of Your glory until my heart overflows with joyful worship. May my entire life become an offering of praise to You. Amen.
