Conviction Is Covenant Mercy

Conviction is not condemnation; it is clarification.
John Owen writes:
“The Spirit convinceth of sin by a clear discovery of its nature, and of the soul’s particular interest in it; so that it sees sin not only as sin, but as its sin.”²
Conviction personalizes guilt and drives the soul to Christ.

A quiet conscience is not always a clean one.
