HIDE YOURSELF IN CHRIST WITH ME
A Brief Poetic Message By Duane V. Maxey, May 2, 2015

Time is swiftly speeding by--
None can slow its rapid pace;
Soon, both you and I shall die,
From the Judgment take our place.

"The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for IT IS SOON CUT OFF, AND WE FLY AWAY" (Psalm 90:10).

Reader, where shall that place be?
Where we dwell e-ter-nal-ly?
Heaven -- with eternal peace?
Hell -- where torments never cease?

"IN THE PLACE WHERE THE TREE FALLETH, there it shall be" (Eccl. 11:3).

These are solemn thoughts, I know;
Thoughts ignored by trifling minds--
Racing on toward Hell, men go,
Sightless made by Satan's blinds!

"In whom the god of this world hath BLINDED THE MINDS of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them" (2 Cor. 4:4).

Faithful, God placed in His Book,
Warnings: JUDGMENT FOLLOWS DEATH!
At these warnings men DON'T LOOK!
Plunge toward Hell with their last breath!

"It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" (Heb. 9:27).

Better for such, Mourning's House,
Than in Feasting's House to play;
Better Sorrow's tears to douse
Worldly pleasures, of today!

"IT IS BETTER TO GO TO THE HOUSE OF MOURNING, THAN TO GO TO THE HOUSE OF FEASTING: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart" (Eccl. 7:2).

And the wise lay this to heart,
While lost sinners, rushing on,
Soon from this old world depart--
With Time gone, FOR EVER GONE!

After this, no one can change
His e-ter-nal des-ti-ny!
Nothing different arrange--
FIXED HIS PLACE -- E-TER-NAL-LY!

"And beside all this, between us and you there is A GREAT GULF FIXED: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence" (Luke 16:26)

Prudent ones foresee their fate
Hide themselves in Christ, and LIVE!
Sinners keep their Judgment date,
LAND WHERE GOD WILL NOT FORGIVE! (Prov. 22:3)

"FOR WE MUST ALL APPEAR BEFORE THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad" (2 Cor. 5:10).

Not one sinner must be lost!
Jesus shed His blood for ALL!
For your soul He paid the cost.
Now Repent -- upon Him call!

"THE LORD IS . . . NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).

He is ready to forgive--
Ready, if you do His will!
Everlasting Life He'll give
In a Home on ZION'S HILL!

"For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee" (Psalm 86:5).

"Be ye also ready" friend--
Christ may come, or we may die;
Since RIGHT NOW our time may end,
QUICKLY! -- to Christ's bosom fly!

"Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh" (Matt. 24:44).

Jesus, NOW, my soul doth save!
All unworthy though I be;
In His blood your sins He'll lave,
HIDE YOURSELF IN CHRIST WITH ME!

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin" (1 John 1:7).
