Devotion – God’s Wisdom Surpasses Ours
Scripture:
“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” — Romans 11:33
Personal Reflection:
When my plans collapse, I am tempted to question God’s wisdom. Yet Paul reminds us that God’s ways are deeper than human understanding. His providence is a vast ocean, and I see only a drop. What confuses me now is part of a greater plan that will one day display His perfect wisdom.
Contemplation:
Am I demanding answers from God, or resting in the certainty that His wisdom is higher than mine? Faith bows before mystery and says: “God is wise, even when I do not see it.”
Quote (Murray):
“We cannot pry into the unfathomable wisdom of God, but we can rest in its certainty.”
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to rest in Your wisdom when my life makes no sense. Free me from the pride that demands answers, and give me humility to trust Your higher ways.
Challenge:
When you feel the urge to demand an explanation from God, pause and pray: “Your wisdom is deeper than mine.”
