Devotion – Providence and Our Good
Scripture:
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” — Romans 8:28
Personal Reflection:
I often confuse “good” with “comfortable.” Yet God defines good as what conforms me to Christ’s image (Romans 8:29). Providence may lead me through valleys, but each step is designed for eternal good.
Contemplation:
Do I trust God’s definition of good, or cling to my own?
Quote (Murray):
“The good that God secures is not always the good we imagine, but the good He knows we need.”
Prayer:
Lord, reshape my desires so that I long for the good You are working in me, even when it comes through pain.
Challenge:
Write Romans 8:28 on a card. Each time trials come this week, whisper: “God’s good is greater than my comfort.”
