A Living Hope

A Living Hope

Scripture

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which…hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” — 1 Peter 1:3

Personal Reflection

The believer’s hope is not dead, uncertain, or wishful—it is living. It rests upon the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a historical and eternal reality that guarantees our future glory. In the storm, earthly hopes often crumble. Health fails, plans unravel, and stability fades. But the hope given in Christ remains unshaken. It is rooted not in circumstances, but in the finished work of Christ and His triumph over death. This living hope sustains the believer when all else fails. It reminds us that our future is secure, our inheritance is certain, and our God is faithful.

Contemplation

John Owen wrote, “Hope is the anchor of the soul, sure and steadfast.”
Is your hope rooted in Christ—or in temporary things?

Prayer

Lord, anchor my heart in the living hope found in Christ alone.

Application

When discouraged today, remind yourself: “My hope is alive in Christ.”
