Joy in the Midst of Victory

Joy in the Midst of Victory

Scripture

“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.” — Philippians 4:4

Personal Reflection

Joy is not dependent upon favorable circumstances, but upon an unchanging Savior. The believer’s joy is rooted in Christ—His person, His work, and His promises. Even in the storm, there is cause for rejoicing, for the outcome is already secured. This joy is not superficial or forced; it is deep, abiding, and anchored in truth. When we focus on circumstances, joy fades. When we focus on Christ, joy flourishes.

Contemplation

Richard Sibbes wrote, “There is more mercy in Christ than misery in us.”
Is your joy rooted in Christ—or in your circumstances?

Prayer

Lord, fill my heart with joy that is grounded in You alone.

Application

Choose to rejoice today by meditating on God’s goodness.
