Victory Already Secured

Scripture

“It is finished.” — John 19:30

Personal Reflection

The victory of the believer does not begin with our effort—it begins at the cross. When Christ declared, “It is finished,” He proclaimed the complete and final accomplishment of redemption. Sin’s penalty was paid, Satan’s power was broken, and the believer’s salvation was secured. The storm may still rage, but it cannot undo what Christ has accomplished. Too often, we live as though victory depends on our strength, when in truth it rests entirely upon His finished work. The Christian life is not a struggle to gain victory, but a life lived from victory already secured in Christ.

John Owen wrote, “There is no death of sin without the death of Christ.”
Are you striving for victory—or resting in Christ’s finished work?

Prayer

Lord, help me to rest in the completed work of Christ and live in the victory He has secured.

Application

When facing temptation today, remind yourself: “Christ has already won.”
