Romans 8: 28: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called to His purpose." The best manuscript evidence records this verse as, “we know that God causes all things . . .” This affirms God's Sovereignty over His creation. In His providence, God orchestrates every event in life, even suffering, temptation, and sin to accomplish both our temporal and eternal benefit. The purpose of God guarantees “good” for His people. For them this is not necessarily ease and quiet, but being like Christ. God’s providence rules in such a way as to ensure everything that happens to us is working for our ultimate good. The understanding of God's Sovereignty and His Providence provides us comfort and security when we are facing difficult times. Know that nothing touches you today that does not first pass through our Father's loving eyes. When I "know" that fact, I am ready for whatever comes. My God is in charge no matter what the world or Satan think. Thank God today for His Sovereignty and Providence.
