John 14: 26: "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." It is the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who sends the Holy Spirit as a Comforter or Helper. The Father and Son agree in this sending. shall teach you all things. All things that they needed to know for their mission. bring all things to your remembrance. This statement shows the divine purpose in the teaching work of the Holy Spirit: the Spirit’s teaching agrees with the teaching of Jesus Himself. He will ensure that the words of Jesus will be preserved for the instruction of the church. These promises given to the apostles were fulfilled in the preaching of the apostles and in the completion of the New Testament Scriptures. They continue to be fulfilled as God’s people learn from the inspired Scripture today. Notice that the teaching of the Holy Spirit is to bring the words of the Lord Jesus Christ to the person's memory. This verse is incorrectly interpreted to allow some people to believe that any random thought that pops into their heads is God speaking to them. The Holy Spirit always directs you back to the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember this verse, please.
