A Faith That Endures
Scripture:
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." — Hebrews 11:1
Personal Reflection
Living faith endures because its object is eternal. It does not rest upon visible circumstances but upon the invisible promises of God.
Faith treats God's promises as realities long before they become visible. Abraham believed God's promise of descendants before he had a son. Noah built an ark before rain had ever fallen. Moses chose affliction with God's people because he looked beyond Egypt to eternity.
The Christian life requires this same perspective. We live in anticipation of what God has promised. We believe His Word even when we cannot yet see the fulfillment.
Such faith is not blind optimism. It is confidence grounded in God's character. Because God cannot lie, His promises are certain.
Living faith begins at the cross, grows through the Word, perseveres through trials, and ultimately enters glory.
Contemplation
Am I living for what is temporary or for what is eternal?
Puritan Quote
"Faith is the eye of the soul whereby it sees Christ." — John Bunyan
Prayer
Father, grant me an enduring faith. Help me live in light of eternity and trust every promise You have made. Through Christ my Lord, Amen.
Application
Spend time today meditating on heaven and the eternal promises of God.
