Faith Looks to Christ

Scripture: Hebrews 12:2
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith."

Personal Reflection

Faith is not merely believing certain truths. Faith is ultimately looking to a Person. The object of saving faith is Jesus Christ Himself. We are not saved by the strength of our faith but by the strength of the Savior in whom we trust.

Many believers become discouraged because they focus excessively upon the quality of their faith rather than upon Christ. They ask, "Is my faith strong enough?" when they should ask, "Is Christ sufficient?" Scripture's answer is clear: Christ is more than sufficient.

The weakest faith resting upon a mighty Savior is enough. A trembling hand may receive a priceless gift. Faith saves because it lays hold of Christ.

The more we look to Him, the stronger our faith becomes.

Are you focusing more upon your faith or upon the Savior who is the object of your faith?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, turn my eyes away from myself and fix them upon You. Help me trust Your finished work, Your perfect righteousness, and Your faithful promises. Amen.
