Faith Triumphs Over Fear
Scripture: Isaiah 41:10
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee."
Personal Reflection
Fear and faith often stand in opposition to one another. Fear focuses on obstacles; faith focuses on God. Fear magnifies circumstances; faith magnifies the Lord. Fear asks, "What if?" Faith asks, "What has God said?"
The believer is not called to deny difficulties. Scripture never teaches pretending that problems do not exist. Instead, we are called to view those problems in light of God's sovereignty, power, and faithfulness.
Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly tells His people, "Fear not." Why? Because His presence changes everything. The God who rules the universe walks with His people through every trial. When faith lays hold of this truth, fear begins to lose its power.
Contemplation
What fear has occupied your thoughts recently? Have you brought that fear to God in prayer?
Puritan Quote
John Bunyan wrote:
"You can do more than pray after you have prayed, but you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed."
Prayer
Lord, replace my fears with faith. Help me remember that You are present, sovereign, and faithful. Give me courage to trust You in every circumstance. Amen.
Application
Write down your greatest fear and beside it write a verse that reveals God's promise regarding that concern.
