Faith Waits on God's Timing
Scripture: Psalm 27:14
"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."
Personal Reflection
One of the greatest tests of faith is waiting. Most believers can trust God when He answers immediately. The challenge comes when heaven seems silent and the answer is delayed.
God's delays are never God's denials. Throughout Scripture, the Lord often required His people to wait. Abraham waited for Isaac. Joseph waited for deliverance from prison. David waited for the throne. Even the disciples waited for the coming of the Holy Spirit.
Why does God require waiting? Because waiting reveals whether we trust God's wisdom or merely desire His blessings. Waiting teaches dependence, patience, humility, and perseverance. God's timing is always perfect, even when it differs from our desires.
Faith says, "I would rather have God's timing than my own."
Contemplation
Where are you struggling to wait upon God? Are you tempted to take matters into your own hands?
Puritan Quote
John Flavel wrote:
"They that wait upon Providence shall never be ashamed."
Prayer
Father, forgive my impatience. Teach me to trust Your timing as much as I trust Your promises. Strengthen my heart as I wait upon You and help me rest in Your perfect wisdom. Amen.
Application
Choose one unanswered prayer and consciously surrender the timing of the answer to God today.
