Faith in the Midst of Trials
Scripture:
"For we walk by faith, not by sight." — 2 Corinthians 5:7
Personal Reflection
Trials reveal the quality of our faith. When life is easy, faith may appear strong. When suffering comes, genuine faith is tested and refined.
Living faith does not require full understanding. It trusts God even when His providence is mysterious. It believes that God's wisdom exceeds our own.
The believer often cannot see the purpose of a trial while enduring it. Yet faith rests in the character of God. It remembers that the God who saved us will not abandon us.
Faith sees beyond present difficulties to eternal realities. It recognizes that temporary afflictions are preparing us for eternal glory.
Contemplation
Am I interpreting God through my circumstances or my circumstances through God?
Puritan Quote
"God's providence is wiser than our reason."— Jeremiah Burroughs
Prayer
Lord, strengthen my faith during trials. Help me trust Your wisdom when I cannot understand Your ways. Amen.
Application
Thank God today for one difficulty through which He is shaping your character.
