Standing Upon the Word
Scripture:
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." — Psalm 119:105
Personal Reflection
Living faith is built upon the unchanging Word of God. Feelings fluctuate. Circumstances change. Human opinions shift with the culture. But God's Word remains forever settled in heaven.
Many believers struggle because they anchor their assurance to emotions. When they feel close to God, they are confident. When feelings fade, they doubt. Yet living faith stands upon the promises of Scripture rather than the instability of emotions.
The believer knows Christ through His Word. Every promise, every command, and every revelation of God's character strengthens faith. The more deeply we immerse ourselves in Scripture, the more stable our faith becomes.
Faith does not ignore feelings, but it refuses to be governed by them. It says, "God has spoken, and that is enough." Such faith endures storms because its foundation is not human experience but divine truth.
Contemplation
Is my confidence rooted in God's Word or in my changing emotions?

"The Bible is God's court of justice, where every controversy must be decided." — Thomas Brooks
