Moved with Holy Fear

Scripture: Hebrews 11:7 (KJV)
"Moved with fear, prepared an ark…"

Personal Reflection

Noah's faith produced holy fear. This was not a slavish terror but a reverent awe of God. He believed God's warnings and therefore acted accordingly.

The fear of God is greatly missing in modern Christianity. Many speak casually about God while living carelessly before Him. Yet Scripture teaches that "the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom."

A healthy fear of God does not diminish His love; it magnifies His holiness. It reminds us that the God who saves is also the God who judges.

Noah feared God more than he feared public ridicule. For 120 years he built an enormous ark while his generation mocked him. Yet reverence for God gave him courage to persevere.

The fear of God is a powerful motivator for holy living. When we truly understand God's majesty, sin becomes less attractive and obedience more desirable.

Contemplation

Do I fear the opinions of men more than I fear displeasing God?

Prayer

Holy God, grant me a deeper reverence for Your majesty and a greater hatred of sin. Amen.

Application

Spend time today meditating on Isaiah 6 and worship the Lord for His holiness.
