We shall continue to look at spiritual warfare for the believer. Remember, true spiritual warfare is not about territory, but the truth. Ephesians 6: 17 reads: "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God...." The helmet protects the head, and God does appeal to the mind of man. I recognize that He appeals to the heart, but God also appeals to the intellect. First, the mind, then the heart. That is why Christians must speak the truth. We can reach a lost person's mind, but only the Holy Spirit can reach the heart. Throughout the Scriptures God uses reason with man. “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool”. “And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee". Paul reasoned with Felix; he appealed to the mind of the man as well as to his heart. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” You must guard your mind from the influence of the world's thinking. Are you protecting your mind from the world?
