2-28-2023 Devotion: Trust

 2 Corinthians 5: 7: "For we walk by faith, not by sight." How could Paul be so sure that when we leave this body we will be present with the Lord? Paul says that we walk by faith. We take God at His Word. I would rather take His Word than anyone else’s word. Faith is taking God at His Word. We are living in these bodies, and we are absent from the Lord. One day that will change. True disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ will one day leave our physical earth bodies and take on a new eternal body to be present with the Lord forever. I don't know about you, but this is a comforting thought for me. One day, no more pain and suffering. We shall see Him face to face. We will see the nail scarred hands and His pierced side. We face challenging times and many temptations from our flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life and Satan and his demons trying to disrupt God's plan and our role in that plan. Let us remember we " walk by faith, not by sight." Remember this the next time what you are seeing is causing you to move in doubt and fear. With God's Word and the faith, He gives us, nothing can stop you from being part of God's Perfect Plan. Don't let your physical senses dominate you, trust His Word and walk in faith.
