Assurance Through Christ Alone

Scripture:
“My sheep hear My voice… and they shall never perish.” — John 10:27–28

Reflection (John Cotton):
Cotton taught that assurance rests not in looking inward for worthiness but outward to the unchanging promises of Christ. Christ’s hold on us is stronger than our hold on Him.

Personal Reflection:
When doubts arise, I often search for inner signs. Cotton directs my eyes back to Christ’s voice, Christ’s promise, Christ’s grip.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, anchor my assurance in You. Let me rest in Your promise that none can pluck me from Your hand.

Challenge:
Whenever fear or doubt strikes today, repeat: “Christ keeps me.”
