Christ the Fountain of Life

Scripture:
“For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.” — Psalm 36:9

Reflection (John Cotton):
Cotton often wrote that all true spiritual life springs from union with Christ. Christ is not merely the giver of life—He is life, and every grace flows through Him.

Personal Reflection:
How often do I try to draw strength from my own efforts—my discipline, my feelings, my resolve? Cotton reminds me that real vitality does not come from myself but from Christ dwelling in me. When I am weak, dry, or discouraged, the problem is usually that I have not been drinking from the Fountain of Life.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, draw me near to You. Make me thirsty for Your presence. Refresh my heart with the living waters of Your grace.

Challenge:
Spend 10 minutes today in stillness, asking Christ to fill you instead of trying to fill yourself.
