The Reality of Regeneration

Scripture:
“You must be born again.” — John 3:7

Reflection (John Cotton):
In his sermons, Cotton stressed that church membership, baptism, or tradition cannot save. Only the Spirit’s regenerating work makes a person truly alive to God.

Personal Reflection:
Have I ever rested in my Christian activity instead of in Christ Himself? Cotton pushes me to examine whether I have experienced the inward change of heart that only God can produce.

Prayer:
Spirit of God, renew my heart. Make me truly alive to the things of Christ.

Challenge:
Ask yourself today: “Am I walking in the newness of the new birth?”
