Spiritual Humility

Scripture:
“God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.” — James 4:6

Reflection (John Cotton):
Cotton taught that humility is the soil in which all grace grows. Pride dries the roots; humility nourishes them.

Personal Reflection:
Pride creeps into my life when I depend on myself…when I compare myself to others…when I crave recognition. Cotton exposes pride as the greatest hindrance to spiritual growth.

Prayer:
O Lord, give me a lowly heart. Help me see myself rightly before You.

Challenge:
Confess one area of pride to God today and ask Him to cultivate humility in that area.
