The Beauty of the Gathered Church

The Beauty of the Gathered Church

Scripture:
“Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works… not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.” — Hebrews 10:24–25

Reflection (John Cotton):
Cotton viewed the local congregation as a covenant community joined by love and truth. Church is not an event—it is a people bound together under Christ.

Personal Reflection:
Do I treat church as optional or secondary? Cotton teaches that God uses the gathered church to strengthen faith, encourage obedience, and foster mutual care.

Prayer:
Lord, deepen my love for my local church. Help me contribute to its unity and purity.

Challenge:
Reach out to one member of your church today with encouragement or prayer.
