When Guilt Overwhelms the Heart
Scripture:
“If our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart.” — 1 John 3:20
Personal Reflection:
Bridge understood the torment of a guilty conscience: “Satan accuses; Christ intercedes.” My heart can condemn me a hundred times, but Christ’s blood silences every accusation.
Contemplation:
The conscience is not our judge but our witness. Its verdicts may err, but Christ’s righteousness stands as final truth.
Prayer:
Merciful Redeemer, when guilt overwhelms me, remind me that You paid the full price for my sins.
Challenge:
Confess one lingering sin to God today and deliberately rest in the truth that it is forgiven in Christ.
