Repentance Without Fear
Scripture:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us.” — 1 John 1:9
Personal Reflection:
Sibbes taught that repentance is a grace, not a punishment. The prodigal was met with kisses, not condemnation. When I confess my sin, I meet a Savior eager to forgive, not reluctant.
Contemplation:
Do I repent out of fear, or because I trust in the Father’s mercy?
Prayer:
Lord, give me a soft heart that runs quickly to You in repentance.
Challenge:
Confess one hidden sin to God today. Receive His forgiveness with gratitude, not guilt.
