The Heart of Christ

Scripture:
“I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” — Matthew 11:29

Personal Reflection:
Sibbes wrote that Christ’s heart is “a storehouse of mercy.” I often think of God’s power more than His gentleness, yet it is His meek heart that draws me. Rest is not found in striving, but in coming to the One whose heart beats with compassion for sinners.

Contemplation:
Do I run to Christ when I fail, or hide from Him in shame?

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You that Your heart is lowly toward the weary. Teach me to rest in Your gentleness.

Challenge:
Each time you feel anxious today, whisper, “His heart is gentle toward me.”
