The Beauty of Contentment
Scripture:
“I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” — Philippians 4:11
Personal Reflection:
Watson’s sister book, The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment, echoes in All Things for Good: “He who is content with little enjoys much.” Contentment has nothing to do with possessions and everything to do with perception.
Contemplation:
A contented soul is like a calm sea reflecting heaven’s light. The discontented heart churns with storms of envy and complaint.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to find satisfaction in You alone. Quiet the cravings of my heart with the sweetness of Your presence.
Challenge:
Avoid all complaining today. When tempted, thank God for one blessing instead.
