We continue looking at Bible reading and study as part of your devotional experience. The Bible is no ordinary book. It is the Word of God. Some may say that the Bible contains the Word of God but this is in error. The Bible is the Word of God and it is perfect without contradiction or error. Some additional rules for Bible reading are: read the Word reverentially and expectantly. Several days ago we read about Coram Deo, knowing that you are "before the face of God." To read it expectantly means that the Bible will do for us what it claims it will do. 2 Timothy 3: 16-17 reads: "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." The Bible will make you complete in that it will provide guidance to help you to live a Christian life. Make studying the Bible part of your daily devotional life and you will be amazed at the results.
