A Humble Heart
Scripture:
“God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” — James 4:6
Personal Reflection:
Newton saw humility as the fruit of grace. “A broken heart,” he wrote, “best becomes a sinner saved by grace.” Pride blinds me to mercy; humility opens my eyes to it. True lowliness is not thinking less of myself but thinking rightly of God.
Contemplation:
Do I cherish humility, or do I seek to appear strong and self-sufficient?
Prayer:
Lord, make me gentle and lowly in heart. Let every success remind me that all I have comes from You.
Challenge:
Do one hidden act of service today that brings no recognition except from God.
