The Power of the Word
Scripture:
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword.” — Hebrews 4:12
Personal Reflection:
Bunyan’s conscience was often tormented until the Word spoke directly into his heart. Verses like John 6:37 — “Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” — became anchors for his soul. God’s Word was not a dry page but a living voice. I too must learn that Scripture is God’s present power: it cuts through lies, convicts of sin, and heals with comfort.
Contemplation:
Do I run to the Word in trials, or lean on my own wisdom and fleeting feelings?
Quote (Bunyan):
“The Word of God is the weapon by which the soul overcomes doubt, fear, and temptation.”
Prayer:
Lord, make Your Word alive in me. Let it be my sword against the enemy and my comfort in despair.
Challenge:
Choose one verse that speaks to your struggle today. Write it on a card and carry it with you.
