Devotion – The Patience of God

Scripture:

“The Lord is... longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish.” — 2 Peter 3:9

Personal Reflection:
If I have not fallen into eternal ruin, it is because of God’s patience. Edwards said every unconverted man walks over the pit of hell on rotten planks—yet God holds him up, day after day. His delay is mercy, not neglect.

Contemplation:
Have I abused God’s patience by persisting in sin?

“It is nothing but His hand that holds you from falling into the fire every moment.” — Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your restraining mercy. Let Your patience move me to repentance, not pride.

Challenge:
Show the same patience to others that God has shown you today—especially to someone difficult.
