Christ Our Advocate
Scripture:
“If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” — 1 John 2:1
Personal Reflection:
Bunyan once believed each sin broke his connection to God forever. Then he discovered Christ as Advocate: a righteous Defender who never loses a case. When I sin, Satan accuses me — but Jesus pleads for me. My failures do not silence His voice; they summon it.
Contemplation:
Do I picture Christ turning away in my weakness, or standing for me in heaven as my Advocate?
Quote (Bunyan):
“Christ pleads our cause in heaven, even when Satan accuses us on earth.”
Prayer:
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You are my Advocate. Strengthen me to run to You in failure, not away from You.
Challenge:
Whenever you stumble today, pause and thank Christ for being your Advocate in heaven.
