The Patience of God
Scripture:
“The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.” — Psalm 103:8
Personal Reflection:
Newton often spoke of God’s long-suffering patience: “He has borne with me long, yet I still find Him gracious.” When I think of my repeated failures, I see that patience is one of God’s most beautiful mercies. He does not abandon His children in weakness but gently restores them.
Contemplation:
Am I more aware of my impatience with myself than of God’s patience toward me?
Prayer:
Gracious Lord, thank You for bearing with me in my wanderings. Teach me to reflect Your patience toward others.
Challenge:
Show patience today where you would normally show irritation—especially with someone difficult to love.
